Principle of operation All benches work on the principal of inducing an air flow away from the operators breathing zone. Once entrained the pollutant, be it dust or fume, is then transported downwards through the bench. For heavy dust loads at differing velocities, this ensures that all but the finest of dusts are deposited where they can be conveniently collected and disposed of. Air, with the remainder of the fine dust or fume, is then passed through a suitable particulate or carbon filter set whereby saving on expensive installations and heat lost through ducted systems before being |
